Zablocki School Announcements
Winter weather has arrived!

Please be sure to dress your child appropriately for the cold weather.  Long pants, a long sleeved shirt or sweatshirt, a warm jacket, a hat, and gloves or mittens will help to ensure your child's comfort and health during the cold weather.
Be sure to label jackets, hats, and mittens with his/her name.

Students will go outside when the following factors are taken into consideration: temperature, wind chill, weather and playground condition. Students remain indoors when the temperatures and wind chills are considered dangerous by the National Weather Service.

Cold and Flu Season is Here

Please make sure that your child follows good health habits:
  • Wash hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water.
  • Get plenty of rest-- 8 to 10 hours a night.
  • Drink plenty of liquids (water or juice)
If your child shows any signs of the flu, such as fever, vomiting, or diarrhea, please keep him/her home.  This will help stop the spread of illness to other children.

Be on Time!

School starts at 7:45!  Many important things happen first thing in the morning. It is important for your child to be at school on time. Students will be marked tardy at 7:50 a.m.

Beginning on January 3, 2011, students who leave school before the end of the school day will also be marked tardy.  School is in session until 2:25.  Parents will need to sign a form and provide a reason for the early dismissal.

Monthly prizes will be awarded to students who are at school and on time EVERY DAY!

Breakfast

Breakfast is served daily starting at 7:25 a.m. and ending at 7:45 a.m.  Children should use the front entrance.

Important Lunch Information

This year our lunch program will continue on a pre-pay basis.  This means that you have the option of placing money for breakfast and lunch in your child's lunch account on a weekly or monthly basis.

Please send cash or check in an envelope labeled with your child's name.  The money is then deposited into your child's account.

Low balance letters will be sent home by the food service manager.

Cost of lunch has changed slightly this year.
